          The Alpha Iota Chapter of the Theta Xi Fraternity was recently recognized by the National Interfraternity Council as a top 10 overall chapter in the Nation. This puts Alpha Iota in the top .15% of all chapters in North America.     2015 NIC Awards of Distinction Recipients


    Each year the North-American Interfraternity Conference seeks to recognize outstanding contributions to the fraternal movement. In a year where a record number of nominations were received, the North-American Interfraternity Conference was proud to recognize the recipients of the 2015 Awards of Distinction.


    Chapter Award of Distinction

    The Chapter Award of Distinction recognizes the undergraduate chapter which is highly functioning, in compliance with NIC Standards, seeks to educate others about the benefits of a values-based fraternity experience, and works to maintain a healthy relationship with their inter/national organization. The 2015 recipients combine for nearly $300,000 in philanthropic donations, a 3.27 cumulative chapter GPA, top honors from both the campus and national organization, and over 40,000 hours of community service. The 2015 recipients are:

    • Alpha Tau Omega  - Oklahoma State University
    • Beta Theta Pi - University of Utah
    • Kappa Alpha Order - Austin Peay State University
    • Phi Gamma Delta - Ball State University
    • Phi Kappa Sigma - Illinois Institute of Technology
    • Pi Kappa Alpha - Indiana State University
    • Pi Kappa Alpha - Wayne State University
    • Sigma Nu - University of Minnesota
    • Theta Xi - Kansas State University
    • Zeta Beta Tau - New York University


    With a record number of nominations thatyear, NIC President & CEO, Pete Smithhisler commended the award recipients and nominators saying, "The Awards of Distinction provide excellent examples of the fraternity experience done right. From undergraduates and chapters to alumni, these awards give the fraternal movement a measure of success and goal for further development. The NIC is incredibly proud of the hard work of these fraternity men."
